The next Course will be held in Ubud, Bali. The course lasts for 5½ days and starts on a Monday at 8.00AM and ends on the Saturday at 2.00PM. You should arrive at Ubud on Sunday or earlier before the course which starts on Monday. The course ends on Saturday at 2.00PM after lunch and group photos.

We offer a 5½ day course.

Most other firewalk schools offer a standard 4-day course. We offer a 5½ days course.  Some schools are trimming their courses to 3 days whilst we are even considering making it into a full 6 day course for the same fee. Why? Because we want you to be competent, professional and the best in this field ready to lead your first firewalk seminar. Hence, the additional time and training hours.

People in ancient times used Firewalking as a healing and cleansing process. It was also used as rite of passage for transporting boys to become young men and girls to become pure women ready for womanhood and motherhood. Tolly Burkan established the Firewalk Instructor Course in 1986 and trained the first five FIT™ Masters that included Rolf & Owsa Beckman from Eight Directions (Sweden) and John Maisel from Eagle Center (USA).

In 2012, Rolf, Owsa and John trained and certified our Brother Kuna, who has the distinction of being the first FIT™ Master from Singapore and Asia. Guru Kadek is also well-known in Bali as the ‘laughing guru’  who specializes in laughing meditation for holistic healing and stress-relief. His ashram holds the Guiness World of Record for having conducted the largest assembly of people for a laughing meditation event. Meals:  The streets of Ubud, just a short walking distance from our training facility, are lined up with restaurants, cafes, eateries and food stalls providing western, local, fusion, Asian and vegetarian dishes to satisfy your taste buds. You will have enough time for your lunch and dinner breaks and rests.

Course Length:  Most western schools offer 3 or 4 day courses. We offer 5½ day courses. So you get more time to practice your skills and knowledge, to share, to learn, to question, to prepare yourself to lead your first firewalk event when you get back home.

The Course: Most firewalk schools basically focus on objective learning dealing with the skills and techniques of firewalking. Our course structure is just as professional and thorough as any other firewalking training school.

We have added subjective learning which is something that most schools do not touch on deeply. This is a topic where you learn the subtle aspects of yourself; about your strengths and weakness, what makes you unique and learning how things work in the real world.

In our course in Bali, we have included a special laughing yoga meditation with the laughing guru of Bali. This meditation is extremely energizing, healing and most importantly allows you to discover the lighter and humorous side of yourself.

Graduation: We will end the course with a beautiful Balinese water ceremony that has strong meaning and significance to your existence with the world. This water ceremony is specially arranged through the kindness of the local village people, their leaders and the spiritual master. It will be a rare opportunity for you to experience such a ceremony as this is not easily available to people outside the Balinese family.

A Special Note: There is a lack of professional Firewalking instructors in Asia. Professionally-run firewalking events are becoming increasingly popular in the Asia region. There is an increasing demand for such events and other high impact activities especially in corporate trainings, team building and personal empowerment seminars.

Not open-minded. Being open-minded is about being receptive  to ideas that are new and unfamiliar. You welcome all and refuse none and that allows you to be more creative, more considerate, and thus bring more value to the Firewalking Instructor Training course.

Don’t like to get your hands dirty. The Firewalk Instructor Training Course is a hands-on course. You will be outdoors mostly, handling firewood, preparing firewalk sites and getting your feet soiled throughout the duration of the course.

Looking for lowest priced training. There are certain Firewalk Schools that charge less than we do for the training. If your criteria for choosing a course is based entirely on lowest pricing, you have every right to do so. Please now that we treat the course with the highest respect and we maintain a respectable price for the course. If we are unable to meet your pricing needs, we appreciate that we are not the training school for you.

Don’t like constructive feedback. We want to train the best Firewalking Instructors. We will be totally honest with our feedback and it is not because we want to criticize but because we want you to be the best. Maturity and openness to improvement are what we ask of our trainees. This is an important qualities of a first class firewalking instructor.

Not a Team Player. You will be working closely with the other trainees throughout the Course. We train, work, and eat together. You will be together a lot with other trainees. Responsibility, co-operation and communication is needed to be part of the team.

Not prepared to switch off your phone. Your phone is a distraction to other trainees and instructors during training hours. The training each day lasts about 12 hours. You can turn on your phone during tea-breaks and lunch-dinner breaks if its important. If you can be disciplined enough to set aside the phone during the entire 12 hours and place your focus and commitment to being fully present, rest assured you will be on your way to becoming an excellent instructor. It’s important to be in the course in person and not through the camera lens. Put your Social Media and emails on hold. Check in during your free time or breaktime.

Not giving the course your 100%. Closely linked to the previous point but also, you must be prepared to give this course your all. Be 100% committed. Try things that scare you. Get outside of your comfort zone, wherever that may be. If none of that applies to you or makes you reconsider whether or not you want to train as a Firewalk Instructor, we would love to hear from you.
